Artist Bio
Nabawia El-Soudani Olivera has independently produced , directed, edited and animated film and videos that screened nationally and internationally in festivals such as Tarfest, Freewaves, Jackson Hole, and Busan in Korea including a feature-length documentary.
Nabawia, better known as “Nabby”, holds a BA from UCI & an MFA from CalArts.
Nabby has worked as a Graphic Designer for the City of Cerritos – Recreation Services Division for several years and has freelanced in graphic/ web design and movie production for over ten years. Additionally, she has worked as an editor for the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer DVD extras behind the scenes video and worked as an Art Director and Production Assistant on the film, “Con La Misma Moneda“, produced by comedian Richard Villa founder of Zula Entertainment.
For the past five years, Nabby has been teaching Graphic Design at Orange Coast College, where Paul Frank learned the design skills to make it big with his monkey T-shirts. She is also simultaneously teaching Animation and Movie Making at the ABC Adult School. She has also taught movie production at CalArts, the alma mater of Tim Burton—Director of Nightmare Before Christmas and Stephen Hillenburg —Creator of Sponge Bob Square Pants).
